These delicate but powerful earrings are cast from Ammonite Negatives. Ammonite negatives are the substrate that a fossil rests in for millions of years before it is excavated. In this case, it was an ammonite fossil. When the fossil is removed, an imprint remains in the host rock. These are sterling castings or replicas of that imprinted material. Each earring is completed with a solid sterling french hook ear wire.
